Summary of the General Assembly

The General Assembly took place on August 11, 1998, 19:30 in Berlin at the ICC during the IPS-12 conference.
After opening of the General Assembly by Prof. Gion Calzaferri, a short review over the activities in the past year was given by Christian Königstein. In March 1998 a very successful 10 th Workshop on Quantum Solar Energy Conversion "QUANTSOL '98" was held in Badhofgastein in Austria. The Workshop with about 35 participants was organized by Wolfgang Kautek. The on-line proceedings are available on this home-page. Afterwards, a short overview over future activities was given:
The European Summer school on Solar Energy in Hirschegg (Austria) that takes place the week after the IPS-12 conference and is organized by Prof. Peter Würfel (on-line program).
The European Conference on Organic Solar Cells (ECOS'98) in Cadarache (France) that will take place in December is organized by Dieter Meissner.
The 11th Winterworkshop QUANTSOL '99 will take place in Wildhaus (Switzerland) and is organized by Jens Gobrecht.
Further acitivities (1999 and 2000) are planed by Claude Levy-Clement, Emond Amouyal and Alex Kokorin.
After the activities overview, Hubert Cachet presented the financial situation which is healthy. Then, the present Executive Board was released and a new Executive Board was elected unanimously :

The next point on the agenda was to fix the annual membership fee. It was agreed to use the new EURO as base currency. The membership fees for full members have been fixed to 15,- Euros and the reduced membership fee (for students etc.) has been fixed to 8,- Euros. Furthermore, it was agreed that members who are not able to pay their membership fess can apply for exemption. The decision will then be taken by the President of the Society.

Before the session was closed by Gion Calzaferri, a short discussion arose about the abbreviation and the logo of our Society. It was decided to held a competition for the logo of our Society with proposals published on our home-page and the winner to be elected by our members. The announcement for the competition will follow soon.
